Purpose and Performance
Whether it is clarifying your purpose, or taking steps to better achieve it, I can help.
With a special interest in organisations trying to make the world a better place - be that a charity, a social enterprise or the public sector.
Is your organisation fully oriented around making the best possible impact? Passion can get you a long way, but is it enough?
Behind every great outcome, is a connected, focused and motivated team.
Whilst I can do a strategic review of your organisation, deliver a compelling report and take my leave, you will get more value if I stick around for a little while. I will work with you and your team to take meaningful action, to support your organisation in embarking on their continuous improvement journey. I will co-create plans with your teams, help them with their first steps, and leave them inspired and equipped to keep moving forwards towards shared goals and a common purpose.
What I do
Below are examples of activities - and outcomes - over recent years. If any of these inspire you, let’s talk.
Community, Culture, Convening
Independently: Founded Coach Camp Cambridge, a UK-wide community of 50 agile coaches that has run for over six years.
Within a corporate setting: Initiated a series of nine internal conferences, running the first three and guiding others to run the rest.
In a public sector engagement: Led a learning culture review through interviews and workshops.
Portfolio and prioritisation
In a corporate setting: Five functions’ technology in one portfolio; 12 teams, 65 people and a £5m budget across three locations; limiting work in progress, OKRs and governance rhythms to focus effort.
Social Value and Evidence
In a social enterprise: SROI, strategic assessment and client experience measurement, used to inform decisions about focus and priorities rather than as an end in themselves.
Outcomes over Outputs
Across many sectors: Coaching teams and leaders to focus on maximising impact, with education and support as well as technical solutions.
